Nonstop Action at the Box Office This June

Nonstop Action at the Box Office This June

After a lackluster May, the Telugu box office is gearing up for a packed and exciting June.

Typically, when a big film releases, it’s given a week’s gap before or after. But this month breaks that norm — there’s at least one major release every week.

June kicks off with Thug Life on the 5th. Starring Kamal Haasan and Silambarasan (Simbu), the film is creating major buzz not just in Tamil Nadu but in Telugu states as well.

The real hype, however, stems from the fact that it marks a reunion between Kamal Haasan and director Mani Ratnam after decades.

Adding to the anticipation, Kamal Haasan himself has stepped into the spotlight—promoting the film actively in Telugu states, giving interviews to Telugu media after a long gap. Naturally, Thug Life has become the talk of the town.

Just a week after that, Hari Hara Veera Mallu is set to hit theatres. Starring Pawan Kalyan, this long-delayed film has gained attention as it marks his first big-screen appearance after becoming Deputy Chief Minister.

Though promotions are yet to kick off in full swing, expectations are sky-high.

Directed first by Krish and later completed by Jyothi Krishna, this five-and-a-half-year-long project also features Nidhhi Agerwal as the female lead.

But even Hari Hara Veera Mallu won’t get a long solo run. The following week sees the release of Kubera and 8 Vaasanthalu.

Kubera boasts a star-studded cast including Dhanush, Nagarjuna, and Rashmika Mandanna and is directed by Shekhar Kammula, whose films have a dedicated following.

Meanwhile, 8 Vaasanthalu, backed by the reputed Mythri Movie Makers, is being positioned for a wide release.

Rounding off the month, Kannappa, starring Manchu Vishnu, is set to release on June 27. A high-budget mythological film, Kannappa adds to the already intense lineup of big releases.

With back-to-back major films hitting theatres, June promises to be a vibrant month for the Telugu film industry — and a busy one for moviegoers.
