Most Stupid Film At The Box Office This Week

Everything is a gamble in the Indian film market. No one knows what kind of films receive traction at the box office.

If the audience is not in the mood to spend their money on small films at the theatres, do they really spend on all the big films? Is the patronization possible for all big films on par with that of KGF2 and RRR?

We are in fact surfing through the post pandemic era and these questions do sprout in many heads with the result of every film.

Shamshera is one big budget film bankrolled by Yashraj Films which was released amidst some hype at least in the Bollywood circuit. But nothing lived up to the expectation and everything went on for a toss.

The film received huge flak from the critics and the limited audience that watched it on the first day. The openings were weak and the subsequent collections were meagre. On a whole this happens to be a big dud at the box office.

It's a revenge drama written in the cliched style with a dual role of the protagonist. It's the fight of a young man Baali who becomes shamshera and snugfests with the British on one side and Shuddh Singh on the other.

The film is filled with too many songs and everything was dealt with a mindset of the 1980s or 90s. The story is obsolete and no clue how Yashraj films took up this project.

Adding to the pain till the end, the climax is another mindless stuff that took the audience for granted. It's an unpardonable product from a prestigious banner like Yashraj.
