Malayalam cinema legend Mohanlal is reportedly seeking a major pay hike, aiming for ₹20 crores or more, following the massive box office success of his recent films L2: Empuraan and Thudarum.
According to a top producer, the two films have collectively grossed over ₹350 crores and continue to perform well in theatres.
Unlike many Tamil or Telugu stars, Mohanlal has traditionally been flexible with his remuneration.
However, industry sources say this move could now place him at the very top of the Malayalam cinema pay scale — surpassing peers like Mammootty, Dulquer Salmaan, and Unni Mukundan.
