'Mirai' Trailer: Myth, Action And Familiarity

The trailer of "Mirai" captioned as 'Super Yodha, featuring Teja Sajja and Manchu Manoj, has finally dropped and it immediately brings to mind the cinematic flavors of HanuMan, KGF and Kalki.

The setup is grand where an evil force seeks mystical books, while the hero shoulders the destiny of protecting them.

Jagapathi Babu steps in as a guiding figure, hinting at a legendary weapon from Treta Yuga, drawing a clear parallel to Kalki’s Dwapara Yuga weapon.

The trailer doesn’t just rely on mythological spectacle; it layers in familiar tropes like a mother – son bond reminiscent of KGF’s emotional core, a savior like arc, and even the divine presence of Lord Rama, evoking the Hanuman factor from HanuMan.

All of this is wrapped in a fairytale styled backdrop, giving the narrative an almost fable-like tone.

Technically, the visuals stand out. The VFX and background score feel polished enough to spark curiosity. Yet, beneath the glossy surface, the trailer struggles to shake off a sense of deja vu.

While the ingredients are promising, the mix doesn’t seem to offer anything particularly new in terms of storytelling.

"Mirai-Super Yodha" is set for release on September 12, directed by Karthik Ghattamaneni, with Vishwa Prasad and Krithi Prasad producing.
