Victory Venkatesh's Drushyam 2 is getting good response on Amazon Prime Video.
Producer Suresh Babu says Amazon People are very happy about the way how the movie is doing on their platform. He also revealed why he is more inclined to OTT these days.
"Movie watching habits have changed. We don't know if it is due to OTT or COVID fear. But they are coming only for big films and during festivals. At this time, calculative step is to go for OTT. That is why we opted OTT release for Narappa and Drushyam 2. Amazon people are happy as well," he said.
"Governments give Excellent lipsync to us when we meet them saying the industry will have their support. But they are not being fair. We are paying electricity charges and property tax even when business is shut. AP Government gave three months exemption of Power charges but the G.O. is yet to release. Things are the same in Telangana as well," Suresh Babu says.
"Ticket Prices issue in AP is not the reason for OTT release. It is also a minor issue. But it is unfair to the independent theater owners especially those in B and C who are suffering so much. The rates are less than 2012 rates while everything went up. Maybe Government thinks keeping prices low will please the people. Maybe there is a communication issue from my side as well," he adds.
