
How could a reputed production house like YRF, which recently delivered the blockbuster Sayyaira, choose to promote a major film like War 2 by focusing on a bikini scene?
This move has left many puzzled. With a star cast including Hrithik Roshan, NTR, and Kiara Advani, the film has all the ingredients to promote with taste. Yet, the marketing team seems to be leaning on a blink and miss bikini shot of Kiara Advani to draw attention.
As a result, the internet is flooded with chatter only about Kiara’s bikini, overshadowing the actual content. The song released with the scene has no buzz, and the trailer landed with minimal excitement.
Given the emotional and action packed core of War 2, relying on such a gimmick could backfire badly. When a high budget film is reduced to one promotional highlight that doesn't reflect its real tone, it risks becoming a marketing misfire.
Unless the content in the film is robust and captivating, things would not fall in right place. So far the marketing is poor!
