Director Trivikram Srinivas and Allu Arjun shared a long-standing friendship and professional rapport that began with their successful collaboration on Julayi in 2012.
Over the years, they delivered several hits together, including S/O Satyamurthy and the blockbuster Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo. However, their relationship has reportedly soured in recent months.
Following the massive success of Pushpa 2, Allu Arjun cemented his position as a true pan-Indian superstar.
As a result, he became indecisive about Trivikram’s planned mythological film. Despite liking the story, he neither confirmed his involvement nor provided any dates, which reportedly left Trivikram disappointed and frustrated.
Sensing that Allu Arjun might not commit even after a year of waiting, Trivikram began exploring other options.
He held initial discussions with Ram Charan for a different project. Around the same time, producer Naga Vamsi, leveraging his close ties with Jr NTR, facilitated a fresh collaboration between Trivikram and NTR.
Eventually, the ambitious mythological film originally intended for Allu Arjun was offered to NTR. GreatAndhra.com was the first to report this significant development.
Sources indicate that Trivikram had reservations about working with Allu Arjun again after Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, but was persuaded by Allu Aravind and producer S. Radha Krishna to announce a new film.
However, the dynamics shifted after Guntur Kaaram underperformed and Pushpa 2 became a massive success. From Allu Arjun’s perspective, aligning with director Atlee seemed like a more strategic move at this stage in his career.
Recognizing the changing dynamics, Trivikram chose to move on and plan his next steps carefully — leading to an unofficial but definitive fallout between the two once-close collaborators.
