HHVM's journey resembles Lord Rama's epic narrative

Power Star Pawan Kalyan’s latest film Hari Hara Veera Mallu recently hit screens to mixed reviews. However, the film’s central theme — highlighting how the Mughals destroyed Hindu temples during their reign — is receiving widespread appreciation.

Director Jyothi Krishna explains that the story is set during a time when Vedic texts were being destroyed. Veera Mallu (played by Pawan Kalyan) rises against all odds to fight the Mughals and protect the essence of Sanatana Dharma.

“He transforms himself into a Vedic scholar,” Jyothi Krishna says. “He absorbs all the knowledge from Vedic scriptures so that it cannot be lost again. Since Veera Mallu was raised in a temple and taught the Vedas from a young age, he eventually becomes a force to reckon with.”

The director further elaborates on how Veera Mallu draws upon Vastu Shastra, using its five elemental principles — Earth (Prithvi), Water (Jal), Fire (Agni), Air (Vayu), and Space (Akasha) — to create balance and harmony in life.

“His expertise and foresight are unmatched. For instance, he saves Gulfam Khan (played by Kabir Duhan Singh) from a landslide and performs a Varuna Yagam to end a village’s drought through rainfall. His connection with animals, especially wolves, through love, compassion, and Ahimsa (non-violence), also stems from Vedic values.”

Drawing a parallel with the Ramayana, Jyothi Krishna explains that Lord Rama’s journey from Ayodhya to Lanka passed through sacred sites like Chitrakuta, Panchavati (Bhadrachalam), Krauncha Aranya, Matanga Ashram, and Rishyamuka. His noble deeds during the journey became ‘landmark moments.’

“In the same way,” he adds, “Veera Mallu’s mission — from Golconda to the Delhi Sultanate—is an epic journey from south to north, where every step he takes is guided by Vedic principles and marked by righteous actions.”

The story reaches a dramatic high point when Veera Mallu confronts Aurangzeb. “It’s a catastrophe — nature itself erupts with a whirlwind,” says the director. “That’s why the climax ends on a cliffhanger, setting the stage for what’s to come.”

To further enhance the cinematic experience, Hari Hara Veera Mallu received a VFX upgrade. With strong bookings across regions, the film is poised for a solid weekend at the box office.
