Sunaina Roshan, sister of actor Hrithik Roshan, recently shared her painful journey of battling alcohol addiction during a vulnerable period in her life.
Struggling simultaneously with tuberculosis, cancer, and a severe herpes zoster infection, she turned to alcohol for relief. What began as a coping mechanism soon spiraled into a full-blown addiction.
Feeling helpless, Sunaina eventually requested to be sent to a rehab facility abroad.
She described her month-long stay as intensely challenging, with long hours of therapy and strict rules — no coffee, sugar, perfumes, or chocolate.
She revealed she didn’t sleep for 28 days but slowly began to heal through the rigorous process.
Sunaina also recalled hurting herself due to excessive drinking and explained the vicious cycle of dependence and its harmful aftereffects.
Now in a better place, she no longer craves alcohol and only drinks occasionally at family events to stay energized.
