Actor Govinda and his wife Sunita Ahuja have once again found themselves at the center of divorce rumours.
Sunita recently addressed the speculation in her YouTube vlog, even revealing that someone had tried to break into her house.
Fresh reports claimed that Sunita had filed for divorce at the Bandra Family Court on December 5, 2024, under Section 13 (1)(i), (ia), (ib) of the Hindu Marriage Act, citing adultery, cruelty, and desertion.
Court documents allegedly showed that Govinda failed to appear in person until a notice to show cause was issued in May 2025.
Since June, the couple has reportedly been undergoing court-mandated counselling, with Sunita attending in person and Govinda’s participation remaining unclear.
When contacted, Govinda’s lawyer Lalit Bindra dismissed the chatter.
“Koi case nahi, sab settle ho raha hai. Ye sab purani baatein utha rahe hain” (“There is no case, everything is being settled, people are just bringing up old matters”), he told NDTV.
Close sources also hinted that the family would be seen together during Ganesh Chaturthi festivities, suggesting the couple had reconciled.
Rumours of their separation have been swirling for years. Sunita previously said she has celebrated her birthday alone for the past 12 years and admitted that she and Govinda have been living separately due to his work and his “talkative nature.”
The possibility of a split after 38 years of marriage shocked fans online. While Sunita’s team initially denied the reports, Govinda’s team later confirmed in February 2025 that she had filed for divorce six months earlier.
However, both sides insisted the matter had since been resolved and urged the media not to circulate unverified claims.
