Game over for Adipurush: Goes on free fall

Game over for Adipurush: Goes on free fall

Adipurush's box office collection on day 5 signals the end of its run, as the Ramayana adaptation starring Prabhas experiences a rapid decline and approaches the Rs 400 crore mark.

Filmmaker Om Raut's ambitious project had a strong opening weekend but has witnessed a steep drop of 75 percent on Monday and a further decline on Tuesday.

On Tuesday, the film's all India nett collection stood at a mere Rs 10 crore, including all languages, with the Hindi share estimated to be around Rs 5-6 crore.

According to industry sources, Adipurush earned Rs 10.80 crore across all languages, with a Hindi occupancy rate of approximately 11.16 percent. T-Series claimed that the movie grossed Rs 375 crore worldwide by Tuesday.

With collections falling below Rs 120 crore in the Hindi market, the fate of Adipurush has been sealed. The film, reportedly made on a budget of over Rs 500 crore, is yet to surpass the Rs 400 crore mark in global gross earnings.

While Adipurush has outperformed Salman Khan's Eid release Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan (which earned only about Rs 100 crore and was considered a flop), it will now struggle to surpass T-Series' own co-production, Tu Jhooti Main Makkaar. The romantic comedy starring Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor had grossed Rs 149 crore in March.
