Editor Shameer Muhammed has openly criticised director S. Shankar for what he called a "terrible experience" while working on Game Changer, starring Ram Charan and Kiara Advani.
Shameer revealed he stayed in Chennai for nearly a year, dedicating himself to the project and trimming the film from 7.5 to 3.5 hours. However, he eventually quit after another editor was brought in without notice.
In an interview, Shameer said he turned down several major projects to focus on Game Changer.
Despite his commitment, he was frustrated by Shankar’s repeated delays and absence from scheduled sessions, with the director often arriving ten days late. The final cut was later reduced to around 2.5 to 3 hours by editor Ruben.
Shameer, who later worked on films like Marco and Ajayante Randam Moshanam, said leaving Game Changer was the right decision, as continuing would have meant missing more meaningful and well-managed opportunities.
