With the makers of Kalki 2898 AD recently confirming that Deepika Padukone will not be part of the sequel, fans have taken to social media to suggest Anushka Shetty as her replacement.
Their demand is simple — the Prabhas-Anushka pairing guarantees excitement and nostalgia.
Industry buzz earlier suggested that Anushka was being overlooked for big projects due to her weight gain, a result of health-related issues.
However, fans argue that since Deepika’s character, Sumati, is portrayed as a pregnant woman in Kalki, Anushka’s current look would actually add authenticity. They believe casting her would make the sequel an even bigger sensation.
Anushka was last seen in Ghaati and is yet to announce her next project.
