Then they started afresh and established Sri Venkateswara Film Distributors in 1999. After tasting several hits as distributors, they floated their own production house Sri Venkateswara and their first movie Dil which was released on April 4th was a blockbuster.
Then, Dil Raju introduced many talented filmmakers like Sukumar, Boyapati Sreenu, Vamshi Paidipally, Bommarillu Bhaskar, Srikanth Addala, Venu Sriram etc.
Bommarillu was the turning point in Dil Raju’s career and he didn’t look back after that success. So far, he made nearly 50 films and the success rate is too high among current-generation producers.
Besides making high-budget entertainers like Game Changer with Ram Charan and Shankar, Dil Raju in association with his daughter Hanshitha Reddy and nephew Harshith Reddy is also making some meaningful and thought-provoking movies like Balagam to encourage talent. Venu was introduced as a director with the movie.
Dil Raju also introduced his brother Shirish’s son Ashish as a hero with Rowdy Boys and is making another movie Selfish with the young chap.
Dil Raju is not an ordinary producer and he is a brand now for his consistency in delivering hits to blockbusters and making back-to-back movies, though he saw ups and downs in his career. There is a minimum guarantee for his movies among the family audience. His judgment skills made him the leading producer and he is the undisputed king of Nizam and Uttarandhra distribution. He is also helping other producers by releasing their movies.
The star producer entered the Tamil industry with Vijay’s Varisu which was a commercial hit. It’s indeed a rare feat for a producer to sustain for two long decades and Dil Raju is an inspiration for upcoming producers.
