Did Pawan Kalyan Return 11 Cr to Rathnam?

Social media and sections of the press have been abuzz with speculation about Pawan Kalyan returning his advance to producer A.M. Rathnam.

The actor-politician stars in Hari Hara Veera Mallu, a long-delayed period drama that has once again been postponed.

Originally slated for release on June 12, the film now awaits a new date due to ongoing financial and logistical hurdles.

Amid reports of mounting financial strain on producer Rathnam, rumors surfaced that Pawan Kalyan had returned the ₹11 crore advance he received for the project.

It’s worth noting that this amount, reportedly paid four years ago, is the only remuneration the actor took for the film. He hasn’t charged anything beyond that.

However, contrary to circulating reports, Pawan Kalyan has not physically returned the advance.

Instead, sources close to the production clarify that he has expressed a willingness to forgo the amount if it would help ease the producer’s financial burden and facilitate the film’s completion and release.

Rathnam is reportedly struggling to clear old dues to multiple financiers, further straining the project.

In this context, Pawan Kalyan’s offer to write off his advance is being seen as a generous gesture of support toward the veteran producer.

Despite contributing to the film’s delays due to his political commitments, Pawan Kalyan has taken a magnanimous stance by prioritizing the project's completion over personal remuneration.

Whether Rathnam will officially request the actor to waive the advance remains to be seen.
