Dhurandhar: Ranveer Scores Biggest Opener of His Career

Ranveer Singh’s latest release Dhurandhar has opened to a powerful start at the box office, outperforming expectations and marking the highest Day 1 collection of his career.

The film earned over ₹27 crore on its opening day, comfortably exceeding advance estimates of ₹15–18 crore. With this, it has also surpassed Saiyaara, which collected ₹21.50 crore on Day 1.

Dhurandhar has now overtaken Ranveer’s previous top openers — Padmaavat (₹24 crore) and Simmba (₹20.72 crore).

Released on Friday, December 5, the film recorded an all-India occupancy of 33.81%, playing across more than 4,000 shows. Evening shows saw a strong jump, touching over 55% occupancy.

Delhi NCR led the response, posting nearly 40% attendance across 1,371 shows, while Mumbai followed at around 35%, screening the film across 1,024 theatres.

Alongside Ranveer, the film stars Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, and Arjun Rampal, with newcomer Sara Arjun drawing attention for her role.

Dhurandhar is written, directed, and co-produced by Aditya Dhar under Jio Studios and B62 Studios.
