From a small-town boy in Mogalthur, to a pan-Indian phenomenon and a political leader, his seven-decade-long journey continues to inspire millions on and off screen.

Chiranjeevi’s acting career began in the late 1970s with Punadhirallu, but it was the 1980s that crowned him the undisputed superstar of Tollywood.

Known for his unmatched screen presence, energetic dance moves, and versatile acting, he redefined stardom. Films like Khaidi, Gang Leader, Swayamkrushi, Rudraveena, Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari, Indra, Tagore, etc. remain touchstones in Indian popular cinema.

Made a grand comeback with Khaidi No 150, Chiranjeevi starred in uncountable blockbusters. In Indian cinema, he has created a chapter entirely his own.

His ability to merge mass appeal with socially impactful themes helped him sustain relevance across generations.

A cinematic career spanning nearly 47 years and a mega-legacy, that’s no small feat. People would rent VCRs and color TVs to screen his movies in villages.

Beyond films, Chiranjeevi proved his commitment to humanity by establishing the Chiranjeevi Charitable Trust in 1998, a pioneering initiative that provides blood and eye donations. The trust has saved thousands of lives and set a benchmark in celebrity-driven philanthropy.

During the COVID crisis, when the film industry was engulfed in uncertainty and despair, Chiranjeevi emerged as a guiding force. He provided direction and hope at a time when it was needed most.

During the recent industry strike, he played the role of an elder statesman, engaging with all factions and taking meaningful steps toward resolving the issues.

Over his career, he has been recognized with the Padma Bhushan in 2006, Padma Vibhushan in 2024, multiple Filmfare Awards South, and numerous state honors.

Today, as he enters his 70s, Chiranjeevi’s legacy isn’t just cinematic. It is one of service, humility, and a timeless bond with the people who see him as more than a superstar, an icon of hope and inspiration.
