On the occasion of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, Telangana Government, under the banner of Rising Telangana, organized an awareness program in the presence of CM Revanth Reddy, blending star power with serious advocacy.
Global Star Ram Charan who graced the occasion recalled, “I remember the joy of buying soda and popsicles at school,” painting a vivid contrast with the current grim reality of children unknowingly consuming harmful drugs.
His concern as a father rang through the auditorium, especially when he confessed the anxiety he feels about sending his daughter to school in today's world.
Ram Charan’s speech struck a chord with the audience, particularly his emphasis on "chasing the right kind of high", one that comes from creativity, family, and achievement rather than temporary intoxication.
“Waking up early, getting a good workout, going to a shoot, coming home to play a game in the evening, and spending quality time with family- that's the real high. Say no to drugs,” said he.
As Telangana intensifies its efforts, the collaboration between government bodies, celebrities, and the community could become a model for others to follow.
