Deepika Padukone is all set to return to the silver screen after the birth of her daughter, Dua, with Spirit, where she will star opposite Prabhas.
The actress is reportedly being paid a staggering ₹20 crore for the film — her highest remuneration in an 18-year career.
Sources suggest the final amount could be even higher, positioning her among the highest-paid actors in the country.
“Deepika is undeniably a megastar. She carries significant box office weight, and her name adds immense brand value to any project. It's only fair that her pay reflects the value she brings,” a source close to the production said.
Directed by Animal filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Spirit is billed as an intense action drama.
According to insiders, Vanga was eager to cast Deepika from the beginning. However, she initially declined the offer as she was expecting her first child.
After the project experienced scheduling delays, Vanga revisited the casting, and this time, Deepika gave her nod after reading the script.
The actress is said to have a strong, substantial role in the film. Spirit is expected to go on floors this October.
