Bollywood Scratching Its Wound With A Hope

Bollywood Scratching Its Wound With A Hope

Much to the chagrin of Bollywood the South Indian film industry has been ruling the Indian Box office making thousands of crores as gross collection.

Gone are those days when the capital of Indian cinema was considered to be Mumbai. Now the films from down South are creating havoc everywhere. After Pushpa, RRR and KGF2 the Bollywood lost its face as it has no film to boast on par.

After the pandemic, it was Suryavamshi that could prove to be a hit with breakeven collections. But that was no where a match to the South Indian monster hits.

Then came Gangubai Kathiawadi, a biopic which garnered a satisfactory response. 'The Kashmir Files', a controversial film made its impact in the Hindi speaking belts but the gross collections didn't cross Rs 350 Cr.

On a whole, now Bhool Bhulaiya 2 was released last week and the Bollywood meida is celebrating the positive talk for the film as a blockbuster festival.

The media is trying to show some figures giving an impression that Bollywood is breathing back the success.

But on bookmyshow it is shocking to see the theaters in Mumbai, Delhi and Ahmedabad with empty screens. To cover this, the media is also saying that the collections are coming from the single screens which are not connected to bookmyshow.

A Bollywood meida house writes- "Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is likely to emerge a SUPER HIT as it shows an excellent hold on Monday with collections set to go over 9 crore nett with good chances to even reach that magical double digit mark of 10 crore nett....The film is going to be a bigger HIT than Sooryavanshi and Gangubai Kathiawadi and it will also easily cross the lifetime business of the latter. It is the second biggest original Hindi content HIT post the pandemic after The Kashmir Files which is great news".

That's the plight of Bollywood today. It's waiting to see the comeback with vengeance but no film is standing on par with the South Indian biggies to entertain the national audience.

Right now Bollywood is scratching its wound with a hope that it is close to getting healed.
