Megastar Chiranjeevi currently has two priorities: completing the long-delayed Vishwambhara and wrapping up the recently launched project with director Anil Ravipudi. These two films will occupy his schedule for the rest of the year.
Looking ahead to 2026, Chiranjeevi has greenlit a few new projects. One of them is with director Bobby, who previously delivered the successful Waltair Veerayya.
Despite Bobby’s last outing, Daaku Maharaj, failing to meet expectations and profitability, Chiranjeevi has reportedly given him the go-ahead to develop a new script.
However, the project faces a significant hurdle regarding budget.
With OTT platforms now tightening their spending on routine commercial films that lack strong pan-India appeal, a Chiranjeevi–Bobby film doesn’t currently command premium value in the digital market. This reduces the potential for high pre-release business from non-theatrical rights.
Additionally, Chiranjeevi’s hefty remuneration and Bobby’s tendency to work with inflated budgets pose further concerns. For the producer, balancing star power with financial viability is going to be a real challenge.
As of now, the project remains in scripting stage while the production team works on addressing these critical issues.
