In Tollywood, box office figures have long been a subject of debate. Inflated numbers are nothing new — what began decades ago has now become standard practice.
Ask about share, and they’ll quote gross; ask about gross, and they'll throw in GST. In many cases, collections are exaggerated by 30–40%, followed by celebratory posters.
That’s why most top stars stopped talking about box office numbers years ago. But now, Nandamuri Balakrishna has reopened the topic.
Speaking on his birthday, the senior actor boldly claimed that all his film collections and records are genuine.
“All my records are original, all my collections are original, and all my rewards and awards are original,” he declared, giving himself full credit.
He didn’t stop there. This time, he seemed to praise himself even more than his legendary father, NTR.
“Looking at me, I feel proud. My personality is my strength. I believe self-awareness is the greatest education,” Balakrishna said, proudly asserting that he’s always ready to do anything for his audience — and that he is truly original.
