Bakasura Restaurant, a Telugu film that promises a unique cinematic experience by blending horror, comedy, thriller, and emotion in what director SJ Shiva calls a "hunger comedy entertainer." The story revolves around the chaos that ensues when a gluttonous ghost enters the lives of five bachelors.
In an interview, SJ Shiva explained that while he initially approached other actors, comedian Praveen agreed to take on the lead role after hearing the story, stating, “The story is the hero, let’s do it.” The director emphasized that this project is both a commercial and genre experiment, introducing a new narrative form centered on food and supernatural elements.
SJ Shiva confirmed that there will be no sequel to Bakasura Restaurant, as the emotional arc of the titular character concludes in this film.
He also highlighted his goal as a director to complete films efficiently and with responsible budgeting, citing Puri Jagannadh as an inspiration. He stated that Bakasura Restaurant was made on a ₹5 crore budget but visually resembles a ₹12 crore film.
