Anasuya: Motherhood Won’t Limit My Style

Recently, actress Anasuya Bharadwaj made headlines after interviews and video clips discussing her views on skin show and personal fashion choices went viral.

In those clips, she reportedly stated that she has no issue showing skin as long as she feels confident and comfortable. She also urged men and netizens to stop questioning or moral policing her choices.

Today, Anasuya posted a detailed letter on social media, further elaborating on her stance. She firmly stated that being a mother doesn’t mean a woman has to compromise on her personal style or individuality.

She wrote, “Yes, I am a woman, a wife, and a mother of two. I also enjoy dressing in a way that reflects my personal style. Glamour, style, and confidence have always been integral to my identity. Some believe this doesn't align with being a mother. I want to ask: Does becoming a mother mean giving up your true self?”

Anasuya added that her family, including her husband and children, support her wholeheartedly and never judge her choices.

“My family — my husband and children — love me for who I am. They do not judge me; they support me. That is what truly matters. I understand that some may not be used to this level of openness, and that’s okay. But let’s not confuse personal choice with negative influence. My children are growing up witnessing a woman who is confident, kind, respectful, and unashamed of herself,” she added.

She also clarified that she has never encouraged others to adopt her style or way of dressing—only to respect her right to live as she chooses.

“Being bold does not mean being disrespectful. Dressing the way I enjoy doesn’t mean I’ve lost my values. I’m not asking anyone to follow my example, nor am I saying this is the only way to live. I simply want the freedom to live my life the way I choose—just as you wish to live yours. To the young people watching, I do not judge your perspectives, and I hope you offer the same courtesy to others,” she explained.

The actress ended her message with a simple appeal: let people live life on their own terms, without unsolicited judgment.
