A high-voltage trailer of Akhanda 2 has been released, but it appears that the audience is not showing much interest in the film.
There seems to be a huge wave of negative talk, and the advance booking collections in theatres are reflecting the same trend.
In the USA, the expectation was to reach $1.5 million for premieres. However, only $100k has been collected so far, which is very slow, and even that includes around $65k from a single location, clearly indicating uneven response.
Back in India, the overly high-voltage presentation also seems to be backfiring. The excessive use of VFX is receiving criticism as well.
Unless the makers come up with another trailer, before the release, that appeals to the tastes of the majority audience, it may be difficult to witness the anticipated crowds in theatres.
Of course, these observations apply only to the openings. The rest will depend on the talk after the film’s release.
The film is set to hit screens on December 5 with a cast that includes Balakrishna, Samyuktha Menon and Harshaali Malhotra, directed by Boyapati Sreenu.
The producers are Ram Achanta, Gopi Achanta, and Ishan Saksena.
