Ram Pothineni, who was busy promoting his latest outing Andhra King Taluka in the USA along with actress Bhagyashri Borse, is now back in the city and took part in the Thank You Meet.
Director Mahesh Babu P thanked the audience for the positive response to the movie and expressed hope that it will continue to perform well.
Producer Mythri Ravi stated that they made Andhra King Taluka with a lot of love.
“To be honest, everyone is saying the film is good, but the collections are a bit low. A November release was a big minus. We strongly believe the collections will pick up from next weekend. If films like this don’t get support, even we will be forced to stick to pure mass films. Ram worked extremely hard for this movie. Everyone delivered phenomenal performances.”
Ram Pothineni extended his gratitude for the positive feedback.
“Everyone is shocked about the collections. But we actually expected this. This is a film we made for more people to watch and connect with. Due to certain circumstances, we had to release during the dead season at the end of November. We faced a lot of hurdles. I promoted the film more than I ever have, because I have a personal connection to it. We’ve seen all kinds of emotions in cinema, but this film explores an untold emotion, about the bond between a star and a fan. At its core, it’s about human emotion. This is a film we made with honesty.
I respect the audience. But with this film, people are saying we need to push more. Some are even saying ‘TFI has failed’. But I believe TFI will never fail anyone. When 10 people watch this film, 9 of them like it. November is done, December has begun, and from now on, the collections will go up. Telugu cinema deserves people like Mahesh Babu. Bhagyashri Borse is a rare breed—she looks glamorous yet delivers strong performances.”
The team stated that they will intensify promotions now that the lead pair is back in the city.
