The last-minute postponement of Akhanda 2 sent shockwaves across the film industry.
Along with the confusion, rumours quickly began circulating about other major films; especially The Raja Saab.
For months, there has been speculation surrounding the film’s release. Recently, financial issues were also dragged into the discussion, fuelling further uncertainty.
Responding to these rumours, producer TG Vishwa Prasad has now issued a clear statement.
“We have cleared all external investments for The Raja Saab. The settlements were done through our internal funds. A few interest components remain, but those too will be cleared before we begin the business of the film,” he clarified.
Vishwa Prasad also expressed concern over how last-minute obstacles can disrupt the entire film ecosystem.
“When a film faces hurdles at the last minute, it affects buyers, exhibitors, producers, technicians, and thousands of livelihoods. It is essential to establish strict legal guidelines to prevent third-party interference in film releases in the future,” he said.
The Raja Saab, starring Prabhas and directed by Maruthi, has already begun its promotional run. Promotions will continue throughout this month.
The film is scheduled for a grand Sankranthi release on January 9.
