Akhanda 2: Venu Swamy's Puja in Discussion

It is known that Venu Swamy, the controversial astrologer, released a video stating that he performed a powerful Bagalamukhi Puja wishing for the success of an upcoming big movie.

Although he did not mention the film’s title, he clearly hinted at Akhanda 2.

Many fans of Balakrishna, as well as some social media channels, assumed that the puja was done specifically for Akhanda 2.

Now the issue has become clearer. Akhanda 2 reportedly had to be postponed due to last-minute financial issues faced by the producers.

Connecting these dots, pundits and those well-versed in teevra devata aaradhana (the worship of powerful goddesses like Bagalamukhi) say that invoking such goddesses for publicity, or performing the rituals incorrectly, can backfire and produce negative results, both for the person performing the ritual and for the object or project it is intended for.

“Had the producers approached him for worship, he would have performed it discreetly and with full devotion, as it is his chosen profession. There is no need to use it for publicity. If the producers did not ask him, he need not do the puja; even if he did it voluntarily, it should have been done silently and not showcased for attention. The power of teevra devathas is very strong, and even this astrologer has faced problems recently,” said a scholar who respects these deities.

Although Venu Swamy did not directly name the film, leaving himself room to deny any connection if issues arise, fans and several social-media channels have already linked his puja to Akhanda 2.
