Deepika Padukone is set to make a strong comeback post her maternity break and appears to have a packed schedule through the end of 2026.
In addition to her upcoming film King alongside Shah Rukh Khan, she is now reportedly on board for Spirit, starring Telugu superstar Prabhas and directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. The duo previously worked together on Kalki 2898 AD (2024).
According to sources, Deepika was drawn to Spirit because of its well-crafted and layered female lead.
Although she initially declined the role due to her pregnancy, she later accepted it after the shooting schedule was adjusted to accommodate her post-maternity return.
The film is expected to begin production in October and is slated for release in the first half of 2027. Meanwhile, Deepika is also preparing for the second installment of Kalki.
