Malayalam actor Unni Mukundan is facing legal action after being accused of physically assaulting his professional manager, Vipin Kumar, in the basement of a residential complex in Kakkanad, Kochi.
The incident reportedly occurred around 11:30 am on May 26 at the P2 basement of the DLF New Town Heights apartment complex, where Vipin resides.
An FIR was registered late Monday night at the Infopark Police Station based on Vipin's complaint.
He claimed that an argument over a social media post — in which he praised another actor — escalated into a violent confrontation.
According to the complaint, Unni Mukundan slapped him, tore his shirt, and broke his sunglasses by stomping on them. He also allegedly hurled verbal abuse and issued death threats.
The actor has been booked under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including Section 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt), 126(2) (wrongful restraint), 296(b) (obscene acts), 351(2) (criminal intimidation and use of force), along with Sections 324(4) and 324(5).
Sub-Inspector Rafique N I is leading the investigation. Vipin has submitted medical records to support his allegations, and police have begun further inquiry into the incident.
