Actor Ravi Mohan accuses wife Aarti of abuse

Tamil actor Ravi Mohan released a new statement on Thursday, denying allegations by his estranged wife, Aarti.

The two are currently battling a divorce in court, and have been accusing each other of emotional and physical abuse through various public statements.

Aarti, in a statement last week, accused Ravi of being an absentee father, and now, in his long statement, posted on social media, he accused her of using their children as 'tools' to create a false 'public narrative'.

A part of Ravi Mohan's statement read, "I will not allow anyone from my past ties in marriage to manipulate cheap sympathy for personal gain or borrowed fame. This isn't a game to me. It's my life, my truth, and my healing. I remain fully committed to the legal process and trust it will bring truth to light. I will continue to navigate this with dignity, grounded in respect for both - justice and myself (sic)."

He further called his silence on the issue a tactic to 'survive'. The 'Ponniyin Selvan' actor added that he felt 'caged' in his marriage with Aarti and finally found the strength to move out. He also commented on Aarti asking everyone to not refer to her as an 'ex-wife' in her previous statement.

"As an adult and as a survivor of years of physical, mental, emotional and severe financial abuse (sad to add), I was also caged in isolation from even meeting my own parents through these years, trapped in a reality that became unbearable despite every since attempt to heal and save my marriage, I finally found the strength to walk away from a life that had become unliveable. Choosing to walk away was not a decision made lightly - And so, I write this you with a heavy heart (sic)," he wrote.

He went on, "Let me be clear, I categorically deny these fabricated claims. I will continue to stand in my truth, as I always have - with dignity, with resilience, and with faith in justice.

PS: The term ex was coined in my heart the minute I chose to leave home, and it will remain so until I breathe my last) (sic)."

Ravi further wrote about his children, and accused Aarti of using them for sympathy. "What breaks me most is seeing my children used as tools in a public narrative rooted in financial gain and to sway public sympathy, while I've been deliberately kept away from them since our separation (sic)."

Here is his entire four-page note, which he captioned as, "All these years I was being stabbed in the back, now I'm only glad that I'm being stabbed in the chest.. First and Final One From My Desk ! With Love Ravi Mohan ‘Live and Let Live' (sic)."

Ravi, on September 9 last year, announced that he was parting ways with his wife, Aarti. He shared a statement in Tamil and English explaining that the decision regarding the 'dissolution of his marriage with Aarti' was taken after careful consideration.

In a separate statement, Aarti announced that the divorce statement was released 'without her consent'. Later, rumours started circulating on social media about Ravi Mohan's relationship with the singer and his therapist, Kenishaa. The two were also clicked together attending a wedding in Chennai this month.
