AA22 x A6 has already set the industry abuzz, and now director Atlee has raised the hype even higher.
Starring Allu Arjun in four distinct roles and Deepika Padukone in a powerful lead, the mega project is being described as one of the most ambitious films ever made in Indian cinema.
Produced by Sun Pictures, the film officially welcomed Deepika in June with a behind-the-scenes video showing Atlee narrating the script to her.
Recently, the director opened up about the film’s scale, ambition, and why even seasoned Hollywood technicians are finding it challenging to execute.
“The audience is really sweet and they keep pushing me every now and then. I’m enjoying the process and trying to make something very new, very intriguing, and addictive to watch,” Atlee told India Today.
He emphasized that the film isn’t a risk but an opportunity to go beyond expectations.
The director promised a never-before-seen cinematic experience.
“Please wait for a few months; we are working to show you something special. One thing I can assure you is that we are going to make something never seen before. We are collaborating with several Hollywood professionals. Hollywood technicians are also working on this film, and even they say it's a very challenging project, which makes me believe we are creating something truly big,” he said.
In June, the makers released a glimpse of Deepika Padukone’s motion capture shoot, teasing her as a fierce queen riding a horse and wielding a sword.
The project has attracted top-tier international talent. VFX supervisor James Madigan, known for Iron Man 2 and Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, said, “I just got done reading the script and I have to say, my head is still spinning.”
Mike Elizalde, President of Spectral Motion, called the script “unlike anything I’ve ever read” during a discussion with Allu Arjun.
Oscar-winning artist Justin Raleigh, CEO of Fractured FX, added, “Reading through it, I’m very excited about all the creature potential and character possibilities.”
With its massive scale, Hollywood collaborations, and star power, AA22 x A6 is shaping up to be a landmark film. Atlee says the makers are planning something “truly special” - and a major reveal is expected soon.
