Director Atlee believes that his upcoming film with Allu Arjun cannot be measured alongside routine pan Indian projects.
According to him, the film is designed to push boundaries and place both Indian cinema and himself on a larger global platform.
Atlee is said to have told his close associates that he sees this project as a crucial stepping stone in his journey to the next level.
After tasting massive pan Indian success with Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan, the filmmaker is now setting his sights higher and is keen on making a mark internationally.
If Atlee succeeds in turning Allu Arjun’s film, tentatively titled AA22 or AA22xA6, into a global success, he believes it could place his name alongside top Indian filmmakers such as SS Rajamouli.
Sources say Atlee is determined not just to match but to surpass the benchmarks set so far.
“I am working with the sole aim of making it a unique Indian film that even Hollywood filmmakers will wonder about my technique,” he reportedly told his inner circle.
This ambition is also said to be the reason why Atlee is maintaining secrecy around the film’s release plans, even as Rajamouli has already announced a release date for Varanasi.
