Ishaan Khatter, who recently represented his film Homebound at the Cannes Film Festival, opened up about his early years of learning through cinema rather than seeking quick fame.
“Film festivals were my education,” he shared. “For three years, I attended as many screenings as I could. My personal record was watching six movies in a single day.”
He described treating films like textbooks, often jotting down notes in the dark like a committed student of cinema.
Reflecting on Cannes, Ishaan said, “It’s the holy grail. I always dreamt of going there with my own film.”
For him, it was never about the glamour of the red carpet but about reaching milestones the old-school way — through steady dedication.
