Her Passion Turned Out to Be A Rs 123 Crore Folly

Now if your father is a superstar who can make the audience go crazy across the world, then you wouldn’t be happy sitting at home playing the perfect home-maker. So, star kids come up with ‘creative’ ideas to grab audiences’ attention.

One such attempt was Rajinikanth’s daughter Soundarya’s film Vikramasimha or Kochadaiiyaan which was made with a whopping Rs 123 crores.

Having been trained in animation in Australia, Soundarya has been doing some animation work thanks to her famous father. Then, she decided to go one step ahead and make an entire film using the ‘motion capture’ technology mostly used in children’s games.

Goes without saying, the audience could not watch their favourite hero being replaced by an ‘animated figure’. As for Soundarya, she came under scathing criticism for making such a lame attempt and making a huge dent to Rajini’s image.

Had the money been invested in making a regular Rajini film, it would have become a stupendous hit. Poor Soundarya, she must realize that a film needs to capture the audiences’ imagination and not take their intelligence for granted.
