There’s a big film producer who just can’t stay away from cards, like many others in the industry.
He and his gang of equally wealthy friends have a habit of meeting late at night in guest houses or offices, playing cards and putting some serious money on the line.
The other night things got a bit awkward. An argument broke out when someone accused him of not showing the count properly, or some sneaky move was suspected.
Feeling hurt, our producer stormed out of the game and kept away from the group for a few days.
But here’s the thing about addiction, it doesn’t let go easily. No one in the group tried too hard to call him back, but he couldn’t stay away for long. Today, he quietly came back, pulled up a chair and started playing again.
Insiders say this isn’t the first time this has happened and it’s almost a routine by now. He walks away in anger, swears he’s done and then shows up later as if nothing happened.
