After two big-star movies minted millions in the last one month, a lull period has happened at North American box-office.
Though Allu Arjun is a big star who has steady following among NRIs, the audience didn’t show much enthusiasm to come to the theaters to watch his latest film “Naa Peru Surya”.
The film grossed just above half million dollars in its opening weekend which is too low for a big star movie.
“Naa Peru Surya” grossed approximately $633k in its opening weekend. Remember Ram Charan’s “Rangasthalam” premiere show collection ($724k) was much higher than the total weekend collection of “Naa Peru Surya”.
#NPS: Fri+Premiere: $382,283 Sat: #169,299 Sun: 80k (apprx) Total Weekend Gross: $633k
Going by the trend, “Naa Peru Surya” will face uphill task to touch even one million mark. However, the distributor will not be losing anything as it was released under commission basis.
On the other hand, Mahesh Babu’s “Bharat Ane Nenu” collected some decent money in its third weekend and its cumulative gross now stands $3.33 million.
It is now tough for the film to cross the gross of “Rangasthalam” that is standing with the cumulative gross of $3.51 million.
