Top 10: Vijay D Not Even Close To Naga Chaitanya?

Top 10: Vijay D Not Even Close To Naga Chaitanya?

Despite getting above average talk, Kingdom continues to struggle at the box office.

With collections touching Rs 52 crores gross, the film is stuck in the ninth position and may, at best, edge past Mad Square, which stands at Rs 58 crores.

However, it remains far behind Naga Chaitanya's Thandel at Rs 78 crores, clearly showing that Vijay Devarakonda’s star power is not enough to drive the film beyond a modest run.

In stark contrast, Pawan Kalyan’s Hari Hara Veera Mallu, despite receiving huge flop talk, has managed to secure the fifth spot with Rs 99 crores, purely riding on his fan base.

Even more surprisingly, Ram Charan’s Game Changer sits in second place with Rs 156.03 crores, though it was slammed as a colossal disaster by critics and audiences alike.

Both Game Changer and Hari Hara Veera Mallu, like Kingdom, are commercial failures in reality, as their sky high budgets are nowhere near justified by their final collections.

Still, they have managed to outperform films with better reception, underlining the importance of star pull in Tollywood.

Kingdom’s performance, however, reflects the fading mass appeal of Vijay Devarakonda, especially when stacked against top stars.

Sankranthiki Vasthunam leads the chart with Rs 220.90 crores, far ahead of the rest.
