At last, the overseas box-office for the Telugu films is coming back to its feet.
Films like “Uppena”, which was a massive blockbuster on the domestic circuit, could not ignite fire but the latest comedy-drama “Jathi Ratnalu” has successfully done.
“Jathi Ratnalu” which starred Naveen Polishetty in the lead role raked in $231k dollars on Day 1 that includes the premier collection. The day one collection is almost equal to the lifetime gross of “Uppena”.
It means “Jathi Ratnalu” made the Telugu audiences in the USA market finally step out of their homes to watch the films in the theaters.
Sharwanand’s “Sreekaram” has collected $25k dollars (Wed+Thur).
“Jathi Ratnalu” will collect more than half a million dollars in the next two days. It is a great sign for Telugu films in the USA market.
