Mahaanetha Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy (YSR) gaari Thrutheeya Vardhanthi was observed by YSR followers in Atlanta on September 8th, 2011. Telugu people across all walks of Atlanta paid rich homage to the bereaved leader at Brindavan Restaurant Alpharetta, GA. Enthusiastic YSR followers attended the vardhanthi event voluntarily with their strong love, affection, respect, admiration, and gratitude for YSR and felt the great loss of the undisputed leader that he was of Andhra Pradesh.
They celebrated the life and legacy of YSR, by reminiscing his deeds, character, leadership, and connected with him as to how each of the attendees met Dr. YSR. YSR's life events, a one hour program by SakshiTV was presented and the tears fell from many in the crowd when they watched YSR's undaunted personality on the big screen. The followers paid rich homage by lighting of jyothi, offering flowers, fruits and raagi mudda to YSR picture and observed two minutes of silence praying for peace to his soul.
The attendees discussed the state of Andhra Pradesh being in disarray now with the loss of Dr. YSR and they opined that if he was alive, the people would have been in much better shape. They all condemned the ill-treatment of YSR family and wayward administration of the state by the Congress party and their state and central leadership. Attendees also showed their determination to conduct some charity activities in AP in the near future, in the name of Dr. YSR.
