Two Telugu techies die in Mum-Pune E-way accident

Two infotech engineers died after their car and a container trailer collided on Mumbai-Pune Expressway, near Tembri village at Khalapur, around 7am on Monday.

The two, Chillapalli Lekhi Chaitanya (28) and Mannem Venkat Saikumar (24), died on the spot.

The front portion of the Maruti Baleno, which they had hired, slid beneath the rear of the trailer and was completely smashed.

Police said the wreckage of the front portion was jutting inwards, almost touching the driver’s seat. It was not immediately clear which of the two was behind the wheel.

The highway patrol police, who reached the accident spot on bikes, extricated the two injured men from the car.

The two were taken to a government hospital, about 5km from the accident spot, where they were declared ‘brought dead on arrival’.

The deceased in the latest accident were returning from Pune. They worked for an IT firm in Navi Mumbai. While Chaitanya hailed from Miyapur in Hyderabad, Saikumar was from AP.
