The flood situation in Kurnool created a major havoc but it has also taught few lessons. The woes of the flood victims were not heard completely and there were instances of non-deserving people coming in between and trying to flick things was also heard many times.
However, a token system was something that really worked. Apparently, the Collector’s office will give tokens to victims and whenever there is a donor coming in, they would give the victims the details and ask them to show their coupons to get their supplies.
It seems that this was something implemented by the Geethanjali school and it really worked. That way, it was a lot more streamlined and it was also easy for the donors to ensure that they are giving it to the deserving people. Let us hope such new ideas are kept in store for future uses.
