Sydney: Australian media is reporting that an Indian student's neighbour has been charged with raping and murdering her in Western Sydney. The student's body was discovered in a suitcase on Friday by construction workers.
A report in the Sydney Morning Herald says that Tosha Thakkar lived near a 19-year-old named Daniel Stani-Reginald. He was arrested at a motel on Saturday.
The paper adds that Ms Thakkar, who was 24, was studying Accounting at the Sydney College of Business and IT, and that she was a permanent resident of Australia.
There is no clarity yet on whether her murder was racially motivated.
