Although the news of Chiranjeevi's entry into politics has been something in general discussion, since yesterday the heat is on in News Papers as well. Many News Papers are making it news on banner. YS Raja Sekhar Reddy said that everybody is welcome into politics and Chiranjeevi is 'more welcome'. TRS leaders are saying that they would comment on this when Chiranjeevi really enters politics. The more worried party is indeed TDP.
But now the fresh grapevine in political circles is an Income Tax raid on Chiranjeevi.
"Although leading parties wish Chiranjeevi's entry with better words in public they make their own moves to curb his entry. We can expect an Income Tax raid or something of that sort on Chiranjeevi shortly", opines a senior advocate.
But contrary to this there is another opinion.
"Congress is not that worried about Chiranjeevi. It wouldn't ignite any IT raid on him. The most worried party is TDP now. People would forget about TDP if Chiranjeevi announces his party. The game would be between Congress and Chiranjeevi in 2009 elections. TDP is branded as self-centered Kamma party that has been focused on its own community. Congress, although branded as Reddy-party it has cornered only Kammas but not everyone. There are a few other community people who are happy with Congress. Chiranjeevi would hit the ground with the back up of BCs, SCs and STs along with some Brahmins and Vysyas. TDP gets only Kamma votes but not others'. Congress gets Reddy and some other community votes. Chiranjeevi gets his own votes from the people who drive away by his charm. The main contestants would be Congress and Chiranjeevi but not TDP now. So, Congress would welcome Chiranjeevi to curb TDP. Then it plays its own game to win in elections. But it wouldn't prevent him from coming into politics. That is the sense in YSR's usage 'more welcome'. Let us see what happens", said another advocate.
Chiranjeevi is really maintaining a wonderful silence which is right thing to do at this time.
