The effects of recession that started out slowly have now taken a more intense shape with major companies announcing heavy layoffs and those lucky few who are in the company working at almost 60% of their salaries with a sword hanging over their head in the name of lay off.
This has struck a big blow to the corporate crowd who has been addicted to the fashion of unwinding at the pubs as soon as Friday evening arrives. All that seems to have become a thing of the past as now they have shifted their drink sessions from pubs to peanuts with just a bottle or two.
Given the current impact of the recession effect and the infamous 'Satyam' type fears hovering around, even those who are genuinely in the safe zone are spending sleepless nights since they feel that this dark snake might strike them at any time. For now, pubs are a strict no-no and pallis are the only pleasure givers.
