One of the grandest achievements and something Hyderabad must be proud of is the GMR Rajiv Gandhi International Airport commonly known as Shamshabad Airport. When it was newly launched it caught the attention of the entire nation and many were in awe of its infrastructure.
But cut to the present the situation seems to be changing. Apparently, those who are frequent flyers have been revealing how the Light poles got rusted and even some part of the landscaping looks unattended. They are saying maintenance is not happening and the effect is showing.
In India, Shamshabad airport is the best and it became a role model for the other airports in the country. While it is not sure what the reasons for this negligence are, one news is coming. Earlier, user charges were collected from passengers but now that is not happening so maintenance is becoming expensive. Also, in the international sector a lot of improvement is required as more international flights should land. Let us see if things change soon.
