SAI Health Fair sponsored by NATA in Atlanta

Atlanta: North American Telugu Association (NATA) has organized multispecialty SAI Health Fair on Saturday 7/30/11 in Atlanta.

NATA has organized Golf Outing and conducted a Fund raiser event in Atlanta region. These three events were conducted as part of NATA’s core mission for community services focusing on providing health counseling services and charitable events.

These events were conducted under the leadership of the Regional Vice-President Bala Indurti, and under the directions of President AVN Reddy and many other members in the Atlanta region. 

President-elect Sanjeeva Reddy, Rajeshwar Reddy (EVP) and Ramesh Appareddy (BOD) have attended these events in Atlanta.
 
Health fair benefited over 300 people

Health Fair, a multi-specialty health camp sponsored and organized by NATA, was held on Saturday 7/23/11 and Saturday 7/30/11 at Hindu Temple of Atlanta (5851 GA Hwy 85, Riverdale, GA 30274). This was the first mega-level Health Fair organized by the NATA team led by Bala Indurti (RVP, Atlanta) under the medical leadership of Dr. Sujatha Reddy, who are versatile, highly successful, compassionate and philanthropic doctors helping many people in the last 10 years in Atlanta.

This camp is very helpful to many visiting parents and uninsured people, said NATA president AVN Reddy. HTA President Dr. Jayashree Moparthy was also participated in NATA sponsored SAI Health FAIR.

The participating medical team including Dr.Sanjeeva Reddy and Dr.Swaroopa Reddy from NATA organizing team has provided free consultations with specialists from all major medical fields. Complete blood profile tests were conducted for many patients. In addition to physicians, other healthcare professionals have participated in the health fair.
 
Highlights of the Health Fair:

--Health Fair was completed in two steps over two weekends.
--38 dedicated Physicians from 19 different Specialties provided their service.
--6 or more dedicated Nurses and Technicians helped the cause.
--40 dedicated volunteers.
--EKG’s were offered by Southern Heart Specialists – Riverdale, GA.
--Vision Screening and Bone Mineral Density screening were offered.
--Comprehensive Chemistry Profile checking was offered by American Clinical Labs.
--Shape study was offered by Global Diabetic Research center, Emory University.
--Total participants= 270, Labs done = 210, Vision Screenings = 70, EKG’s done = 153
--Bone density screenings done = 57

The NATA organizing team has appreciated the efforts of regional coordinators Dr. Vijaya Appareddy, Ravi Kandimalla, Srini Vangimalla, Ramana Doddla, Srini Kotlure, Venkat Mondeddu, Ravi Singareddy, Phani Dokka and Srinivas Poondru for extensive and selfless service they offered at the Health Fair.

Thanks to Dr. Sujatha Reddy garu for providing an opportunity for NATA to serve through Health Fair. AVN Reddy said that the health fair with 38 doctors with 19 different specialties and a full lab to conduct various tests really looked like a regular hospital that has benefited the needy patients.

NATA also thanked Partha Ramaraju, Shiva Arza, Jagadeesh Chemarla, Parvathy Kancherla and K. Mohan Reddy for their support in 2 day Health fair.

Fund Raiser in Atlanta collected over $50,000

NATA has organized a Fund raiser event in Atlanta on Saturday 7/30/11 with great enthusiasm. Fundraising dinner was attended by close to 300 people. Bala Indurti, regional V.P. summarizes the event as follows: We are glad that community responded well to the event. Without their support and blessings we wouldn’t have been able to complete these activities successfully.  It is a team effort by a great team we have here who has diligently worked for the past 3 months. We were glad that executive committee President Sri. AVN Reddy garu,  Dr. Sanjeeva Reddy garu, Rajeshwar Reddy garu and South Board Of Director, Ramesh Appareddy garu, were able to attend and provide the support.

We are glad that Sri Ghantasala Ratnakumar garu was able to attend and make it a memorable event. He enthralled the audiences with some of golden melodies from bygone era. I would like to thank Venkat Chennubhotla, Phani Dokka and Ramesh Duvvuru for their support and coordination to make the NATA Day musical night one of the most memorable.

Bala Indurti thanked Venkat Chennubhotla for sonsoring the sound system. He also thanked Prashanth Kollipara for photography during NATA day and Golf Outing. Bala also thanked Ravi Ponangi & Mahadev Desai for media coverage & Siva Gaddamanugu for beautiful flyers for web/email coverage.. We were able to raise more than $50,000 and proud of it. Our goal is to convert the pledges into reality.

Thanks to Dr. Adisesha Reddy garu for attending the NATA Fundraiser and making it a success. Last but not least, we would like to thank Atlanta community for making it a grand success. Thanks are due to Venkat Garidepalli for coordinating friends to raise money for Ghantasala project. 

Golf Outing in Atlanta uplifted the NATA spirit
 
NATA has organized a Charity Golf Outing on Sunday July 31, 2011 as part of its mission to reach out to the community in recreation and charity. Net proceeds from this Golf event will benefit the Eye health camps and other NATA seva days activities to take place in December, 2011  in rural villages of AP, said the NATA RVP Bala Indurti.  This event was held at Bear's Best Atlanta Golf Club (5342 Aldeburgh Drive, Suwanee, GA). The program began at 7 am with a registration/breakfast and social hour, shotgun start at 8:30 am and awards/lunch at noon. The Golf tournament was very impressive, it was remarkable to have 72 players to participate in the tournament and several more like us to watch and enjoy, said AVN Reddy. It brought in NATA awareness among the local businesses and corporations owned by Telugu people.

We would like to thank Narender Reddy for being instrumental in bringing Hon'ble Mayor Dave Williams as chief guest for NATA Golf Outing Kick Off ceremony. NATA appreciates Srini Vangimalla for his excellent coordination in organizing NATA Golf Outing with Bear's Best management. Thanks to Dr. Vijay Vemulapalli, Ramesh Chaparala and Ramakrishna Nemani for co-ordinating with NATA team and coming up with format and rules. NATA to preserve Ghantasala’s memorables
 
NATA team has made a pledge to preserve the eminent Telugu singer Ghantasala’s memorables. I am happy for NATA to undertake a noble project to preserve Ghantasala gari's precious, life long collection of his awards, achievements and the legacy he left behind for generation to remember and enjoy, said AVN Reddy. There was lot of appreciation for doing this from the attendees. Cost of this project is below 15K which will become a priceless historical place in Chennai for many people to visit and enjoy.
 
President AVN Reddy congratulated RVP Bala Indurti and the team for conducting 3 big events successfully in a grand manor over two days of this last weekend.
