People for Lok Satta (PFL), a vibrant political organization, is organizing an open conference call for NRIs to interact with Dr. Kiran Bedi, a noted anti-corruption activist. She is going to address NRIs on anti-corruption movements going on in India and about Jan Lokpal bill. She explains the current situation about her experiences in negotiation with Indian government.
Dr. Kiran Bedi is also the founder of ‘India Vision Foundation’ (www.indiavisionfoundation.org), an organisation that strives to create positive relationships between police and people. Currently she is touring the US to support their project in USA, ‘Seva Legal Aid’. Ms. Anu Peshawaria, the author of ‘Immigrant Dream’, leads ‘Save Legal Aid’.
Srinivas Ranabothu from PFL New Jersey chapter recalls the support extended by Kiran Bedi to PFL during ‘Dandi March II’, 240 mile walk in US against corruption in India.
PFL has been organizing anti-corruption events such as solidarity fasting along with Baba Ramdev and Anna Hazare, ‘Kill Corruption’ campaign, worldwide campaign to cancel 2G spectrum licenses, etc. PFL Meeted and Greeted her in Chicago where several IAC, Bharatswabhiman, PFL volunteers gahthered and Adressed. That all the NRI's leaving no person behind to come together, seek support from all organizations irrespective of Indian language or state and work towards the common cause of corruption prevention. It can start with a small step like creating awareness through Facebook posts or informative video sharing she said. Kiran Bedi responded positively to the request by Naga Mallempudi from PFL Chicago chapter to support the NRI Absentee voting rights campaign. The organizers encourage NRIs to call in and interact with her.
