There was a great hoopla and ecstaticism in Congress party over the last week shuffling and induction of certain new faces into UPA II. The news of inducting six more characterless AP MPs as Ministers is not a surprise but seems to be the last resort of Congress HC, under the (un)able direction of junior intellectual Rahul Gandhi and his mafia mother Sonia Gandhi. The underlying desperation of Congress party is evident in the selection of the candidates! It looks like they are shooting for to win 10 MP seats from Andhra Pradesh in the next General Elections. Looking at all the intelligence reports at their disposal, here is what they may be thinking:
The selection of Ministers is pathetic, stupid, and dearth of any long term thinking. Of course Congress and Sonia/Rahul lost their essential senses for long term planning on the same day YSR was killed, proving it with the selection of Rosayya and Kiran Kumar as CMs and merger of Chiranjeevi into Congress, while kicking YS Jagan out of the party. Every election from September 2009 proved this fact. What appalled most observers was that the Congress HC did not even follow some basic standards in political seniority. But, if one would think rationally, Sonia/Rahul seemed to target Jagan.
Here is the rational: MPs like Kavuri and Rayapati that are on top of the seniority ladder will never become a minister since their segments are very volatile and have no chances of winning next elections anyway due to three way fight between YSRCP, Congress and TDP.
The Congress HC aimed to select ministers on caste equation in some strategic segments, where TDP has no strong hold, at least making sure to give a tough fight to YSRCP in 2014. This is the reason for inducting - Kotla, Killi, Balaram Nayak and Sarve. The last but not the least, Chirujeevi might have promised the Madam that he may win for Loksabha from Amalapuram or another in coastal belt, which may be safe with collusion of Congress and TDP, like in the case of Narsapuram and Ramachandrapuram by-elections, where TDP got 5000 and 8000 votes. Bottom line is they inducted as ministers who they think have at least a chance to fight or if they are against Jagan. So, as usual the debacle king Rahul’s immature equation is to give 10 ministers to AP and win 10 MP seats. Needless to say he will fail utterly just like in Bihar and UP.
Sonia does not understand that Chirujeevi cannot even give a decent fight in the next elections. And he also realized his place in the Congress party when Sonia sent IT officials to his daughter’s house to give shock treatment to campaign in the last by-elections, in the hot summer, which he was avoiding initially. By becoming a Minister now, he may earn some more money for their next generation but he is not eligible to become one in the first place. How can he win only 18 MLAs in the last elections and become an MP, and now a minister now? Instead of prostrating in front of Sonia, Chirujeevi should go to Idupulapaya and thank YSR Samadhi, on whose MLAs he could become what he is today!
The shameless Congress party and its leadership at the national and state levels are using the strength provided by YSR to them to neutralize YSR’s own son. What’s more disgusting is the fact that all the old and new ministers from AP are partying and prostrating shamelessly in front of Sonia and her 43 year old bachelor son. They must realize that it was the hard work and blood of YSR that won them MP seats.
The PM, Sonia, Rahul, MPs, Ministers at State and Central level, and Chief Minister seem to be oblivious to YSR’s contribution to their power that they are enjoying now. Now may be the only time for them to enjoy, and no matter how meticulously these so called intellectuals plan for 2013 or ‘14, they will pay a hefty price as none of these ministers or anyone else from Congress party or TDP will win from AP. Until then, let them continue these celebrations.
