Opinion: Bloody Media Hunt For 13 Percent Audience

With lifestyle becoming materialistic and everyone running on their toes to keep up the pace, the end of a hard day’s work they prefer to crash in front of the TV and unwind themselves.

So, the demand for TV is very high in our lives. But according to one report, among all the TV viewers it is only 13% who actually watch news and the rest are hooked to entertainment, games shows, reality shows, serials, sports, movies etc.

This brings me to ask one question. Just for that 13% of audience so many media channels have come into existence and they are getting part in so much competition? And to appease this percentage, they are doing so much hungama? What pains me is the way they are coming up with different stunts just to prove their credibility.

For instance, a lot of focus was on the congress war room discussion. Ideally, it is a very private discussion but one channel bragged that they are giving live telecast right from the spot.

Who will come out of the war room and tell them all information? Instead of reporting the truth, whatever they imagine they will tell. The way I see it, every media channel is exploiting Telangana issue and trying to make their own TRP out of it. One channel says exclusive, another says breaking news and another one says first on this channel. Amidst all this circus, the public is becoming fools and watching all the programs with tension and anxiety on what will be the future.

Logically speaking, if the center takes a decision on Telangana they will give the national channel the feed and not regional channels. Those channels will start preparing the people on the decision being taken and then a formal announcement is made. If the viewers are sensible they would watch the national media channels but if they get influenced under the regional TV channels and glue to it then there is no doubt that they are making the biggest fools of themselves because each channel is saying what it wants to convey rather than the truth and reality. Watch out friends!
